For any dedicated animal lover, the option of going on holiday, minus you cherished pet, is something that will never cross your mind. In this article we look at the top five pet friendly hotels in the UK.

Trigony House, Thornhill Dumfries and Galloway

Trigony House describe their hotel as providing the much needed ambience of the best of hotels, whilst also providing home comforts.

Indeed, the welcoming party of Kit and Roxy (the hotel’s resident dachshund and golden retriever) make for a great first impression, which is only outdone by the welcome you receive once in your room.

There you will find a personal welcome note from the hotel’s owners (Mother and son team – Judy and Adam), along with a present for your pet. For dogs that’s a treat bag that’s brimming with snacks, a treat bag then that’s sure to be gratefully received.

You will also find a map of the area, that details the best local dog walks around.

The only place dogs aren’t allowed in this stunning country house is the dining room, but for those that spend every waking hour with their pet, the owners will accommodate you in the bar area during eating times.

Trip Advisor Review of Trigony House

Trigony House beats by a long mile every other allegedly dog friendly hotel we have ever visited around the UK. From the first sweep into the lush gardens where you can see in the distance the dog bin with provided (free) bags, to the note addressed to the dogs in the luxurious bedrooms telling them where the local walks are, this hotel exceeds expectations with its mix of luxury with friendliness for guests and pets. “

“We have been coming now to The Yorke Arms for at least 8 years, why? Well, because in the case of this wonderful establishment it is difficult to better the experience. both from the quality of food and service as well as the quiet, isolated but stunning setting in the Yorkshire Dales”.
