Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan, India and is the top 5 holiday destinations in India {Source – About.com}. Apart from a large variety of tourist destination, Jaipur has dozens of Palaces which are now luxury Hotels & Resorts and are simple astonishing.

In this article I want to share 5 of the top palaces turned hotels/ resorts in Jaipur and some reasons that why one should stay in them.

At Number 1 – Raj Palace
Build in 1727, Raj Palace is a one of the oldest Palaces in Jaipur. The palace was once the favourite holiday residences of Maharaja of Jaipur. But when democracy reached India, normal public also enjoyed all those luxuries which were previously confined to royalty only. Though one have to spend some thousands of dollars for an accommodation here. Though try their restaurant. It’s amazing & affordable.

 

At Number 2 – Samode Palace
36 Kms from the Jaipur city, at the footsteps of Aravalli ranges a breathtaking resort which not only attract traveler but some Hollywood & Bollywood film directors too {The Far Pavilions}. Samode palace was one the holiday home for the Jaipur court and now it comes in the top 5 Palace Hotels in Jaipur Rajasthan {Source – About.com}. Samode palace is famous for its luxuriously furnish rooms, lobby and their swimming pool which is just next to Aravalli ranges can force you to multiply your holidays.

At Number 3 – Rambagh Palace
Rambagh Palace {Operated by Taj Hotels} is a Luxury Palace hotel in Jaipur which was once the residence of Jaipur royalty. Rambagh Palace was built in 1835 for the wet nurse of prince Ram Singh II. Later in 1887 Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh updated the palace and by 1931 Maharajah Sawai Man Singh II made Rambagh his main residence and brought Rambagh Palace to his highest glory.

Today the palace is favourite destination for celebrities, politicians and in 2009 it won the best hotel in the world by Conde Nast Traveler.

 

At Number 4 – Alsisar Haveli
The term Haveli means private mansion. In Jaipur there are dozens of luxury hotels which were the private mansion for Jaipur court members. As the Jaipur royal court isn’t active anymore the owner has turned their Havelies as private hotels. Alsisar Haveli is one of the many Havelies which offer luxury accommodation at affordable price. This Haveli was built in 1892 and is operated by a clan of Rajput’s (A royal clan of Rajasthan royalty) who converted this haveli into a luxury hotel in 1994.
