Goa Holiday ToursGoa is one of India’s premier tourist destinations. As it is filled with numerous tourist attractions and things to do, there is hardly any idle time in your tour of Goa. Visit the place during the next vacation and spend a memorable holiday exploring the old monuments, churches, and beaches in Goa.

Goa, the common destination for the beach lovers in India, is a small state lying on the western coastline of the country. In fact, it is the smallest state in the country, but it is affluent in terms of natural wealth. It is much richer than many of the states in the country in terms of amazing tourist spots and attractions. The excellent laid back environment and the vibrant culture that is formed by a huge Portuguese contribution lures backpackers from far as well as near to the place and makes it a favorite destination to visit during the next holiday. Individual arrive at Goa to see the enchanting shoreline full of perfect sun-kissed sands and never-ending streak of the palm fringes. There are numerous hotels, resorts, and shacks filling up the beaches in Goa and provide you with the best opportunity to relish the genuine hospitality of the state.

In past few decades the place also emerged as the prime hub of adventure and action. You can go swimming, fishing in the backwaters, relish a cruise on Mandovi River, enjoy water surfing and number of other water based activities. Filled with infinite tourist attractions, you can never get bored while being in the state.

Panaji is the capital of Goa. It is also the headquarter of North Goa district. Margao, Mapusa, Vasco da Gama, and Ponda are the other significant large cities of the state. Early 1500 saw the arrival of the Portuguese who defeated Yousuf Adil Shah, then sultan of Bijapur. They established a permanent settlement in Velha Goa which is today known as Old Goa. However, the roots of the state’s history point back to 20,000 to 30,000 years. For about 450 years the entire Goa province remained under the reign of Portuguese and it is only in 1961 the entire region was included in the union territory of India. There are a number of archaeologically significant old structures spread all over the state that make it a highly popular place amongst the history enthusiasts.

Individual and couples throng the beaches. There are more than 40 good options for the beach lovers. Sunrise and sunset on the beaches are simply magical and on top of that some of the beaches are also the venues where specific day based markets are held, such as the Wednesday Market held on Anjuna Beach and Saturday Night Market held on Arpora.

Get indulged in a journey through time by strolling at the narrow streets and boulevards of Old Goa with mansions, houses, cafes, and churches lying on both sides of the street. The site is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site and houses some of the oldest and most revered churches in India.

Finally, regale in one of the hip and happening parties in Goa. It is a must do if you seek the best of Goa tourism. The place is distinctively known for its wild parties and carnival that liven up the nights in Goa. Goa Carnival, held in the second week of February, and Sunburn Festival, celebrated at the end of every December are two of the biggest festivals.

It is quite easy to get into Goa. It has a modern airport, two rail lines, and a large network of roads connecting it to rest of the nation. Mumbai to Goa flights are amongst the busiest modes to reach the state. Apart from that, there are frequent flights from Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chandigarh, etc.
